Mu means “me” and dra means dance. Mudra means the dance through which I connect with me. Mudra may be in form of particular hand formations or can be in form of body posture or can be in form of dancing eyes. There are thousands of mudra positions. All positions help to remove negativity and bring positive energy. Mudras help physical body, astral body and causal body. Mudras are integral part of Hindu mythology, Buddhism and even Sikhism.
Mudra when used with mind energy becomes karate or kung fu. Mudras can then be used to generate immense energy. Ravana was the king of mudra and thus he had immense energy and could also lift Mount Kailash. Mudras can also reverse body aging, can be the elixir of life and can be nectar of immortality. Those mudras remain hidden and are known to only a select few.

• Gyan mudra helps to concentrate (meditate). Tips of fingers are receivers and palms transmitter. When you do gyan mudra, other fingertips receive, and the thumb and index finger keep it in constant recycling.
• When unable to concentrate due to disturbing thoughts: right hand crosses over left hand with both palms facing laterally and fingers upwards. This helps to concentrate as palms retard the disturbing forces on the side and fingertips receive cosmic energy which go straight to the agnya (third eye) chakra.
• Right hand faces outside and fingers upwards like a cobra & left hand forms a stand. This prevents negative forces from affecting you.
• For removing laziness – fold hands & arms like elephant trunk. The palms should touch each other like namaste. This stretches shoulder muscles and all upper body muscles and helps to remove laziness.
• Both hands interlocked with elbows straight helps to improve determination
• Matysa (Fish) like interlocking with thumbs flapping for channeling determination.
• Ling mudra- In namaskar position with elbow bent both index finger pointing upwards and other fingers interlocked, right thumb on left thumb -for spiritualism (It denotes peak of spiritualism)
• Ling mudra – left hand fist and right hand as fist on top with thumb upwards – increases determination towards spiritualism
• Cross hands and palms faced outwards with middle & ring finger bent and index & little finger point up with thumb out. This mudra helps for creating balance in body. Two fingers pointing down to create balance and two fingers pointing upwards – get energy from cosmic world.
• Left hand index finger, middle finger & ring finger touches the palm of right hand . Right hand outstretched. This mudra helps to balance ida & pingla . Right hand takes energy from cosmos & fingertips of left hand help to balance the energy flow. Person will start breathing from both nostrils.
• Lingeshwar – mahadev mudra : Index fingers both hands touch each other to form pyramid. Middle finger of both hands are upwards to form a ling. Middle finger of left hand touches base of right index finger and is below right hand ring finger. Right hand ring finger touches base of index finger of left hand. Though the ling formed, energy is obtained from cosmos. The pyramid of index fingers increases the energy 10 fold. The ring finger channel the energy straight to heart as they are connected straight to heart.
• Index finger and little finger outstretched and middle finger & ring finger joins the thumb. Either both hands outstretched sideway or crossed. Two fingers take energy from cosmos and middle & ring finger when joined with thumb recirculate energy. When hands outstretched, welcome more & more energy. When hands crossed, you prevent your own thoughts from disturbing you.
• All fingers outstretched at different angles, take both hand above head and cross them (right inside left and both fingers facing backward or upward). By keeping fingers at different angles, the energy got through each finger is balanced (as each finger’s size is different & keeping at different angles helps to maintain equal energy). By keeping hands overhead, energy directly comes to head. Crossing them presents your thoughts from disturbing you.
• Left hand below right hand with both palms facing each other and thumbs outstretched with hands perpendicular to ground to form a triangular. This mudra restores your magnetism as per earth’s magnetism as palms are in opposite direction (north & south – balancing each other).
• Both hands crossed touching body and thumb joined with middle finger, this removes gas from physical body.

• Cross index finger over middle finger. Ring finger bent straight towards wrist. Thumb and little finger touching each other, pointing towards sky like a pyramid.
Explanation: Index finger depicts logic. Cross with middle finger means cross my logic. Ring finger depicts ego. When it points down, it means make my ego down. Little finger & thumb together means telling god to awaken his logic within you.

• Index finger hinged, others 3 fingers bent in the palm and thumb outstretched outwards
Explanation: Hinged index finger means bend my logic. Other 3 fingers bent into palm means complete surrenderness and thumb outstretched means asking god to give his energy. Thumb depicts ling.

• Right hand in dhyaan mudra. Thumb & index finger touching, remaining fingers like shankh mudra. Extended out. Left hand thumb & index finger in dhyaan mudra, middle finger touching thumb & index finger of right hand, ring finger going down & little finger facing up.

Explanation: Right hand in shankh mudra means the energy of the entire universe is in the hand. Thumb & index finger in dhyaan mudra means channelizing that energy for meditation & peace. Left hand middle finger touching the dhyaan mudra means absorbing energy directly to body & channelizing again through dhyaan mudra. Ring finger turned downwards means the ‘I’ finger (ego) is abolished and little finger turned upwards denotes energy taken from cosmos.

• Both hands middle & ring finger down & covered by thumbs. Index & little finger facing up. Right hand palm facing outside and left hand index & little finger touching index finger of right hand.
Explanation: Both index finger & little finger take energy from cosmos. Left hand balances this energy and magnetism by forming north pole & south pole of right index finger. Thus balances magnetism in body.

• Ring finger of both hands down. All other fingers facing up. Thus ego is abolished. Ring finger stands for ego. Both hands palm is facing outside.

• Dhyaan mudra in lap. When hands kept in lap like teerthankar, right hand in dhyaan mudra over left hand. This can also be used for meditation.
