There are nine planets in the solar system.
Mercury: The first planet closest to the sun is Mercury. Mercury means anger. It is the hottest planet. Thus, planet Mercury serves as a reminder that the first thing in life a person should do is to control anger.
Venus: The 2nd planet of the solar system is Venus. It depicts femineity. The characteristics of femineity are emotions. Thus, the second step in spirituality is to balance your emotions.
Earth: The 3rd planet of the solar system is Earth. It is the place for karma bhoomi (ground where actions are conducted). It means one should do positive karma (actions).
Mars: The 4th planet of the solar system is Mars. The red planet represents energy. It is closest to earth. Thus, next step is to use right energy for positive karma.
Jupiter: The 5th planet of the solar system is Jupiter. It represents sadh buddhi (intelligence). Thus it means that one should use intelligence to channelize energy into right karma. It also stands for intelligent master. Thus on the path of spirituality, one should have a satguru.
Saturn: The 6th planet of the solar system is Saturn. It has 7 rings. Each ring depicts the chakra in our astral body. Thus, it means that the next step is vishuddhi (purity) of all the chakras.
Uranus: The 7th planet of the solar system is Uranus. It means Shukracharya. Shukra retards negative forces. Thus, next step is to retard negative forces that hinder your path.
Neptune: The 8th planet of the solar system is Neptune. It represents destruction of ego and to reach the highest peak. Only after that one merges in God.
Pluto: The 9th planet is a cold planet. It means that now ‘I’ (the finite identity of me) should become cold when one dissolves in the infinte.
