Garbo means divo (lamp). Garba ma divo means Divine light (Prakash) of Divine mother (MA). Garbo means Srishti (world). ‘MA’ no garbo means divine light of divine mother in entire world. When Navratri (festival of nine nights) comes, ‘MA’ no prakhar (fierce) swaroop (form) comes. Divine light of divine mother shines in entire world. All humankind is happy at that time so play rasa–garba (divine dance). Some grow anaaj (grains) in garbo (pot of lamp). It symbolizes that the energy of divine mother gives growth & prosperity in the world. Divine mother has taken birth many times – sometimes as MAHAKALI in Pawagadh, sometimes Amba, sometimes as Vaishnodevi, sometimes as Guheshwari. Everytime, she merges in the Shaktipeeth. Shiv is always present at Shaktipeeth to control & direct flow of energy.
