If you want to be successful in tratak, then you need to focus your mind. Tratak means- tra (three) tak (stare). To stare with three things- your eyes, your mind and soul. When you concentrate on anything with your eyes, mind and soul, then you can possess that thing, object, animal, man, anything. When your tratak becomes all powerful (siddh), then your can make that object, person do things as per your command.
Tratak does not help for spiritual growth. It is only to help you overcome obstacles in your path. But then you should know that this is an obstacle. Most people use Tratak to have personal gains. It is such a powerful tool that people forget their goal and start misusing it.
Hypnosis and Tratak are different. In hypnosis, you make a person do as per your command by making the person’s mind travel into the subconscious. Moment the mind comes back to conscious, you lose command over that mind. In Tratak, you control all three layers of the mind - subconscious, conscious and even super- conscious. Thus, Tratak is more powerful than hypnosis.
No one can do Tratak on you without your permission unless that person is very powerful. However ever for that, the person has to look into your eyes. It you do not look into the eyes of the person, he cannot do Tratak.
Lot of sadhus learn Tratak, so that they can control people, but they forgot their goal that in the first place, they left the world to achieve God.
Tratakuti Parvat (mountain) in Kashmir is Tratak kshetra (region). Doodh Ganga that emerges from it carries the vibrations of Tratak. By immersing yourself in those waters, by looking at Tratakuti you can get the powers of Tratak easily. Otherwise, it takes years of practice. These blessings are not available to everyone so easily. Jesus came here, learnt it but never used it. The place is made so beautiful that people get mesmerized in it and forget everything else. Only those who remember their goal get the highest blessings.
Tratakuti is the place where a demon called Tratakasura was killed. He had extreme Tratak and could control even devas (gods) with it. When he was slain his power was left behind in these mountains. He became pure and was left behind
